A strong involvement with neurosurgical education has been maintained by his position on the RACS Board of Neurosurgery and the Board of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia for the past 15 years, serving as president from 2013 to 2014. Neurosurgery Spine § Our team completed his medical degrees and graduated from the University of Sydney with honours in 1993. § His early postgraduate training was at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital followed by training and research in Neurosurgery at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. His advanced Neurosurgery Spine § Training included posts at Westmead, John Hunter and Royal North Shore Hospitals. § During this time he underwent subspecialty training in Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery under the mentorship of Professor Michael Morgan.

Spinal Surgeon § Our team neurosurgical interests include the Spinal Surgeon, multidisciplinary management of brain tumours, pituitary and skull base surgery (including minimally invasive and endoscopic surgery), and cerebrovascular surgery. § He has been the Neuro-Oncology Tumour Program Lead, and Chair of the Macquarie University Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) since its inception in 2012.
Brain Surgeon § Many complex brain vascular disorders and some brain tumours are best managed with bypass grafts and our group of Brain Surgeon is recognized nationally and internationally for our expertise with these techniques. § We work closely with the interventional neuroradiologists at Macquarie University Hospital in the management of neurovascular cases. § Our patient centric, multidisciplinary approach ensures risks and alternatives have been considered when establishing a care plan.
