    8. 8 Components of the Logic Model Long Term Objectives: To achieve Ontario recognition of the OBC as the provincial authority for the Baby Friendly Initiative™ in Ontario. 2. To support the work of local and regional coalitions in their efforts to promote the Baby Friendly Initiative™.

    9. 9 To encourage governing bodies of hospitals and public health units to adopt BFI™ Best Practices. 4. To establish OBC as the recognized provincial authority for BFI™ among Ontario stakeholders. 5. To enable BFI™ designation as the final point of contact between hospital /community services and the BCC.

    10. 10 The Work Plan Objective 1. (to achieve gov’t recognition for OBC…) Indicators: # of MPP’s contacted #MPP’s aware of BFI # and type of activities to communicate with MPP’s

Develop a current list of MPP’s on OBC website Seek local coalitions and make file to match MPP’s areas Compose a sample letter for local coalitions to lobby local MPP’s to recognize OBC and mission Collect relevant local information from coalitions to offer to MPP’s

    12. 12 Responsibilities for Objective #1 Search listing for MPP’s and add to web site (KV) Seek local coalitions using web site (KV)_ Draft a sample letter for local MPP’s (LL) Call for feedback in newsletter to collect coalition locations and progress (KV)

    13. 13 Objective #2 To support the work of local and regional coalitions in their efforts to promote BFI Indicators: Increased # of promotion resources disseminated Increased #and type of groups receiving promotional resources Increased # requests for presentations by OBC

    14. 14 Activities to achieve Objective #2 Ask webmaster to track # of hits and types of resources used Track 1:1 contacts at conferences and give business cards for OBC Create tool to track displays, presentations and plan for use of display Meet with other stakeholders (BCC, INFACT, Best Start, RNAO, - @ AGM?- develop plan for new year

    15. 15 Objective #3 To encourage governing bodies of hospitals and Public Health units to adopt BFI Indicators: Increased # and type of advocacy initiatives aimed at key stakeholders Establishment of a provincial multi-stakeholder advisory committee to develop BFI BF guidelines for governing bodies

    16. 16 Activities for Objective # 3 Develop a position paper to address scope of the need for BFI in Ontario Develop an educational package for hospital board members, boards of health, Councillors, reps from OHA and accreditation committees. Develop a tracking tool to track contacts made with groups listed above and champion contacts Invite representation from other stakeholder groups to develop guidelines for governing bodies.

    17. 17 Objective # 4 To establish OBC as the recognized authority for BFI among Ontario stakeholders Indicators # of stakeholders looking for BFI designation who contact OBC Ongoing representation on BCC prov/territorial committee # and type of educational and advocacy activities hosted by OBC # or assoc and organizations partnering with OBC to bring BFI to hosp and community

    18. 18 Activities for Objective # 4 Develop tracking tool to record # inquiries to OBC re BFI designation Report minutes from BCC meetings to OBC exec and include report in newsletter for members. Create tracking tool for the # of educational sessions held and evaluation results Develop a list of assoc and org sharing interest in BFI –contact to meet and strategize

    19. 19 Objective #5 To enable BFI designation as the final point of contact between hospital /community services and the BCC Indicators OBC receives BCC recognition as provincial authority for BFI # of participants who are aware of the process of designation and who contact OBC as a first step
