Learning Agreements • Participant’s Commitments • Attend each session and PARTICIPATE • Refrain from using alcohol and other drugs and confront others • Take responsibility for your learning. Ask questions, participate in familiar activities, and step out of your “comfort zone” • Respect individual differences and the dignity of all people. Keep an open mind and strive to learn a new perspective • Agree not to leave the conference property without permission. Day 1: Building Community - Explore what leadership means • Meet other participants of the “Learning Community” • Join 10 other students in your “Family Cluster”
Day 2: The Value of One, The Power of All • Outdoor Team Experience • Behavior Style Inventory • Set personal goals for the week and share with Family Cluster • Reinforce the concept of inclusive leadership and creating communities of mattering
Day 3: Challenging What Is, Looking To What Could Be • Define and refine your Breakthrough Blueprint – a powerful vision • Interact in settings dealing with chaos and change • Guest Leader Panel and Reception
Day 4: Bringing Vision to Reality • Discuss Relationships • Define SMART Goals and Stretch Goals • List action steps to move your vision forward • Explore the issue of power
Day 5: Living and Leading With Integrity • Explore concept of integrity • Afternoon of relaxation and reflection • LeaderShape Revue
Day 6: Staying in Action • You are now a part of a nationwide LeaderShape community • Commencement Ceremony
Accommodations • Waycross Camp and Conference Center • Morgantown, IN
Accommodations • Two to four people to a room • Private bathroom in each room • Single or full sized bed • Fresh linens every day • HOT showers • It’s like a hotel, so please disregard any horror stories from last year!
Food • Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be provided each full day • Snacks will also be provided throughout the institute • We promise, you won’t go hungry! • Please inform us of any food allergies not mentioned in your application after the meeting

Transportation • We have a bus! • Sign-up after the meeting if you want a ride. • Be at DeVault Alumni Center by 1pm. • As long as you find a way to get on campus, we’ll get you there • Park at the DeVault Alumni Center, unload, and we’ll direct you to the E lot • If you prefer to drive directly, instructions will be provided upon request. Keys will be collected at the Institute.
Storage For Bus Riders • Please try to store any valuables in a secure location prior to arriving at the DeVault Alumni Center • You may store any luggage you have at your own risk in the SAA office • Traffic in and out is limited • I have faith in the regulars
NECESSARY: 7 comfortable, casual outfits(pants, jeans and t-shirts, short sleeve shirts, polo shirts, winter jackets, sweatshirts, etc.) 7 pairs of socks 1 pair of shoes 1 pair of sneakers 1 pair of snowboots 1 casual belt 1extra set of casual (grungy) clothes and shoes/sneakers you don’t mind getting dirty: (for low ropes/challenge course on Day Two) 1 business casual outfit: men: dress slacks and shirt or sweater; women: slacks or skirt and blouse or sweater 1 pair of pajamas 1 light jacket / winter jacket 1 poncho and/or umbrella 1 flashlight and batteries 1 pair of sunglasses NECESSARY: 1 week of prescription medication (if required/needed):(headache, cold, allergy) 1 set of personal toilet articles: toothbrush and paste, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, comb and brush and any other personal needs. There is not a laundry facility available for your use during The LeaderShape® Institute. Please plan accordingly. OPTIONAL: bathrobe and slippers camera and film compact discs (CDs) snacks (some snacks provided) nominal spare cash (for personal needs) personal journal alarm clock??? Emergency Information Prior to leaving LeaderShape • Sondra’s office number is 812-855-4670 and cell phone is 812-322-2076 or email at seinman@indiana.edu While At LeaderShape • The Waycross Camp & Conference Center’s direct line is 812-597-4241. • After hours, the same phone number will ring at the home of the executive director who lives on site or he can be reached at 812-597-5232 (his personal phone line).
Commitment to Participate • By attending this information session and signing and returning the LeaderShape Learning Agreement you are making a commitment to participate. • IU Bloomington students must sign a statement agreeing to a $50 fine assessed by the Bursar for failing to show at LeaderShape. Non-IUB students understand that if they fail to show, they will be invoiced for the $50 fine. • If an emergency arises, contact Sondra ASAP to determine if you may be excused from the Institute.
