Laboratory Assistance Project 2005 Two components of the project: a) Donation of GCMS to Biological Sciences Research Centre for Food and Nutrition of Ouagadougo University b) Related technical assistance in the form of on-site training to the personnel of the recipient laboratory
Laboratory Assistance Project 2005 GCMS is currently used for: • Analysing samples of food and natural products (research) • Pilot phase of performing analyses of imported chemicals and samples collected from the industries - per request of the National Authority
Analytical Skills Development courses • Two young professionals from Burkina Faso benefited • The training had an appreciable impact on the performance • One of trainees is included in roster of experts of the National Authority
Looking into the future • Putting a system in place for routine performance of analyses for the National Authority • Continue leveraging the OPCW programmes • Getting more trained manpower – training in analytical chemistry within State Parties, whenever possible
