2. CDL Product Range 1 CDL Product Range MiniRLG2
CDLs most successful product in terms of turnover. The MiniRLG2 system is based on the Kearfott T16 RLG and provides high accuracy heading, pitch, roll and heave outputs. Items are under export control (ITAR). Well over 100 systems have now been sold.
MiniPOS2
MiniPOS2 is based on the same T16 system as the MiniRLG2 but can output more information. MiniPOS2 can calculate position and output that in x,y,z or lat,long and height. MiniPOS2 can also accept aiding from external devices to allow it to navigate more accurately. Current aiding devices are GPS (surface) or Doppler Velocity log (subsea).
RemoteGyro
The CDL RemoteGyro is a battery powered RLG system for use in template installations on the seabed where it is undesirable to have direct connection to the surface. The data from a MiniRLG2 can be read on a MiniTXT subsea display or transmitted via DATUM acoustic modem.
MiniTilt
The CDL MiniTilt is a long standing successful product with several hundred systems out in the field. It is a high accuracy, but low dynamic pitch and roll sensor which reads to 0.05 degrees in both axes at an update rate of 4 Hz. It gives these angles over the full range of 360 degrees.
3. CDL Product Range 2 CDL Product Range MicroTilt
This is a simple dual axis accelerometer which can be used for low cost attitude applications when high update rates are required. Note that this is a 2 axis system only so it has no way of telling the difference between a pitch angle and a sideways movement.
MiniSense
MiniSense is a MEMS based 6 DOF sensor which computes attitude as well as heave. This is a much lower cost heave sensor than most other systems which are based on pendulum accelerometers.
Future MEMS development
CDL may produce many more MEMS based products in the future. The small size and increasing accuracy of these systems opens up many new areas where guidance is needed and space is restricted. These include small diameter pipeline mapping tools and downhole drilling. The release of the new iMEMS device from Analog Devices could facilitate some of these projects. CDL have a PCB design already done for this system and will be testing it soon on our 3 axis test system.
4. CDL Product Range 3 CDL Product Range MiniVision/ MicroVision
The MiniVision system is a single channel 1.3GHz analog video and audio transmission system that is license exempt in the UK. It has a power output of 0.5W. It is housed in 4 rugged aluminium cases, Tx and Rx go up the mast and a control box for each at the bottom. The Rx control has a built in 5.6 screen to allow easy setup of the system. Channel switching is done at the bottom end. MicroVision is a 4 channel version of the MiniVision system which uses the 2.4GHz band.
MiniWire
MiniWire is a long range serial data telemetry system allowing transmission at speeds up to 16,000bps. It uses Forward Error Correction (FEC) for high data integrity. UK MPT 1340 License free.
MiniPlexer
The CDL MiniPLexer system is a data multiplexer for use on ROV systems that sends up to 8 channels of bidirectional data over a twisted pair copper connection at speeds of up to 115Kbps
