Progression of new schemes • Clyde Kelvin and Irvine Schemes (Interim arrangements now operational) • Dee, Don, Deveron and N Esk Schemes (CBA and feasibility complete) • Coastal flood warning scheme (requests received from Dundee CC and Lord Thurso, - anticipate request from Western Isles Council) • Stirlingshire Rivers (request received) • Extension of Irvine to Lower Irvine and Garnock? • River Nevis (SEPA proposal).
Key Facts • Flood warning schemes implemented following requests from LA’s in response to flood events • No consistency in flood magnitude • Variation in dissemination methods • Requests are progressed under SEPA Policy 34 • Key areas of Scotland at risk have no FWS –including coastal areas • More Strategic approach required
