Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(Healthcare for All) Dr Ashim Desai Study on Tinnex (Caroverine) Effectiveness:- Dr. Ashim Desai M.S. in ENT (Bom) D.O.R.L. in ENT (Bom) Trained at the KEM hospital & Municipal ENT Hospital . Obtained specialized training in the field of Middle Ear & Mastoid Surgery at the House Ear Institute in USA & at the University Hospital in Zurich under Dr. Ugo Fisch. PMS Known as post-Marketing Surveillance, these are conducted after the drug is approved by regulatory authorities and may include 100 of patients. These studies are generally designed to evaluate comparison of a drug with other drugs already in the market or to monitor a drug’s long-term effectiveness and impact on a patient’s quality of life., and to test it in a “Real World” setting of Daily clinical Practice. 1
Study Topic: - ‘Newer Emerging Trends in Tinnitus Management’ Characteristics of Study Sample: - All volunteers have had history of ‘Tinnitus’ with or without hearing losses & both genders (M/F) included, age was not bar meaning by young age to old age was included Study Duration: - 3 months Total no of Volunteers for Study: - 100 (73 patients continued till the end of study) Patient Recruitment Methods: - Pre & Post analysis of OAE Test (Otoacoustic Emissions) There are 2 types of Otoacoustic emissions in clinical use (Both have been Conducted) ● Transient otoacoustic emissions (TOAEs) or transient evoked (TEOAEs) - Sounds emitted in response to usually clicks but can be tone-bursts. ● Distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) - Sounds emitted 2 simultaneous tones of different frequencies. otoacoustic emissions acoustic stimuli of very short duration; in response to Outcome:- The data is generally distributed hence a paired t-test was performed on a sample of 73 patients to determine whether there was a statistically significant mean difference between the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) before and after treatment. The result shows that after treatment the Visual Analog Scale decreased (3.66 ± 1.56) as compared to pre treatment Visual Analog Scale (5.82 ± 1.38) which is highly significant (95% C.I., P = 0.000). Overall study results suggested 75- 80% success rate in reducing severity, Intensity & duration of Tinnitus with enhanced hearing.
