Aim My aim: To investigate soda cans being positioned in a very bizarre way, keep it balancing and how to fool your friends by making it seem like an illusion.
Apparatus • 2 clean and empty 375ml soda cans • 100ml room temperature water • A funnel (optional) • A secret friend
Step 1 Pour in your room temperature water in one of the cans 3/4s of the way and make sure your friend doesn’t suspect a thing.
Step 2 Invite your friend over and ask her/him to try and balance the empty soda can on its bottom rim.
Step 3 Now you try and attempt this on your own making sure that you are using the soda can with water in it and show her/him how its really done.
What happened What happened was the soda can with water in it balanced while it was staying up with the bottom l. While the can which was empty wasn’t staying up at all.
Why did this happen? This happened because when you tilt your can the centre of gravity shifts to a different position which causes it to keep on balancing.
