  4. TASK 3: LITERACY TASK You will now complete a piece of extended writing about the layers of the rainforest. You must focus on SEQUENCING and use SEQUENTIAL CONNECTIVES. e.g. The highest layer of the rainforest is the emergent layer. This layer is…. After the emergent layer comes the canopy… LEVEL 4 – focus on description. LEVEL 5 – focus on explanation. Must – describe the layers of the rainforest and the plants and animals associated with each. Should – identify why the layers are so different and how species have adapted to live there. Could – suggest ways in which the layers are being changed by people and how we can act to protect their unique character.
