  2. American Civil War • Caused by injustice taxation and use of slaves in the South • Took place from 1840-1880 • Had caused many problems; main issue was the use of slaves • Abraham Lincoln denied slavery because it became very unethical

  3. Emancipation Proclamation • January 1, 1863 • “Gave all persons held as slaves within any state or designated part of a state, the people where of shall then be in rebellion against the United States shall be then forever free.” • Freed about more than 50,000 slaves • This revolutionized by starting to give slaves rights, and be considered normal citizens

  4. Progressive Era • The Airplane was created • 1880-1918 • Invented by the Wright Brothers • New invention would change transportation and travel in the world

  5. World War 1 • 1914-1918 • Created the different types of aircrafts Ex: Fighter, bomber, and attack airplane • Permanently changed and revolutionized the tactics and strategies of war

  6. Flight in the air • 1914-1918 • Each country had a maximum amount of available planes • Aircraft technology started to advance • Created bigger, faster, and more maneuverable planes • This also lead to the creation of the rotary engine • This revolutionized the airplane industry
