Snow Eagle • Location • Oberstdorf, Allgäu Region of Bavaria, Germany • Activity • Alpine Ski Touring (All levels) • Dates • 21 Jan – 1 Apr 12 • Aim • To introduce Alpine Ski Touring through progressive technical and snowcraft sessions. This scheme is aimed at all abilities from complete beginner to advanced. Personnel will be able to apply individually for the scheme.

Alpine Eagle • Location • Gunzesreid Säge, Allgäu Region of Bavaria, Germany • Activity • Introduction to Alpine Ski Touring • Dates • 21 Jan – 1 Apr 12 • Aim • To introduce beginners to alpine ski touring through piste based training and foundation snowcraft sessions. This scheme is aimed at groups from stations with equal skills.

Nordic Eagle • Location • Jamtland, Sweden (Close to Norwegian Border) • Activity • Introduction to Nordic Ski Touring • Dates • 5 – 23 Mar 12 • Aim • To introduce beginners to Nordic Ski touring through technical and snowcraft sessions via self supported expedition. This scheme is aimed at all abilities from complete beginner to advanced. Personnel will be able to apply individually for the scheme.

Vixen Eagle(Formerly Blue Vixen) • Location • Zwiesel, Bavaria, Germany • Activity • Introduction to Nordic Skiing • Dates • 21-28 Jan 12 • Aim • To introduce beginners to Nordic Skiing through technical and snowcraft sessions. This scheme is aimed at all abilities from complete beginner to advanced. Personnel will be able to apply individually for the scheme.

  6. Information • Promotinal information and application forms for all 4 Eagles schemes (Winter 2012) will be placed on the PEd Website and sent to OC FD Sqns in late Sep 11. • Please advertise as widely as possible. • URGENT- Instructional staff are required for all of the Exs detailed above – JSSI (A) & (N). TLT and STL. Further details will be promulgated via FD Sqns and the PEd Website in due course.
