  2. Battle Bot info • Battle bots have many competitions the first was held in Long Beach, California in August 1999. The second was held in November 1999. Where they battle is called the battle box which is “48”x “48” designed to protect the robots and there drivers . The battle box is medium size because there are all different sizes of robots all different shapes.

  3. Drive Train • The drive train is an important part of a robot. Without it the robot will not work right. The drive train works to move mechanical parts. The drive train is like a battery. It helps to use the electrical output that is created by the battery. Here are 3 different types of drive trains for battle bots. 1st chain drive in this the power is transmitted by the chain which is turning. The 2nd drive train battle bot part is the drive belt it works like the chain drive but instead it uses a belt. The 3rd battle bot drive train is the drive shift which is used for bigger robots and weighs more and Is tougher than the drive train.

  4. History of The Battle Bot • In 1992 Marc Thorpe tried making a remote controlled vacuum. The results ended up violently and he thought he should make some combat robots. • Later in 1994 Marc created RobotWars® where home-made robots would battle against each other within an arena. • In 1996 the third annual RobotWars® is huge. 75 battlebots are attending. The partnerships of Marc Thorpe and New York (Profile Records) are running into problems, problems leading into the courtroom. • In 1998 Carlo Bertocchini creates the RobotWars® Forum where the competitors and enthusiasts discuss the events of RobotWars®. • In 2000 RobotWars® has been losing to BattleBots, an event being held in London, where Americans are invited, all expenses paid. • In 2002 BattleBots begin to air season 4.0 on Comedy Central.
