ETA “Conditionally Accepted” Electrical Equipment Summary (11/1/16)
Significant Safety Achievements- 11/16 • The Oven/Furnace Self Assessment project is moving along. All ETA lab areas have been visited and an inventory of ovens/furnaces was compiled along with relevant data for each. A survey of PI’s is planned to determine maintenance and calibration procedures. • Remaining equipment in the B70 hallway cabinets was inspected by the electrical safety inspector. We are about 90% finished. • Replacement of 6 old flammables cabinets was completed in Buildings 60, 62, and 70. These were replaced with new units that have self-closing self-latching doors. • A semiannual Chemical Management System inventory update was completed. Inventory lists were sent to each chemical owner for review/update. We also updated owner and proxy information for ETA. • Several new Work Activities were developed and approved. Updates were also made on a number of existing Work Activities.
Short Term Safety Outlook 12/16 • Complete the Oven/Furnace Self Assessment survey and start the draft report. • Continue to address all remaining ETA equipment on the electrical equipment “conditionally accepted” list. • Complete the inspections of remaining electrical equipment in the B70 hallway cabinets. Some items will require repair before they can be used. • Begin a survey of the hallway storage cabinets in Building 90 second floor. • Implement EHS0027 "Safety Walkthrough" training for ETA managers and interested Lab Safety Leads. This is planned for January/February. • Perform a quarterly Satellite Accumulation Area (SAA) hazardous waste inspection.
