Project Summary • Goal is to Construct a new, single-story approximately 8,000 Sq. Ft. Fire Station. • Alt. Bid item for Demo of existing fire station and providing landscape and irrigation in its place. • City of Palm Beach Gardens – Owner
SITE LOCATION 11025 Campus Drive
EXISTING SITE Front of lot Lot size Approx. 125’ x 840’
Building Requirements • LEED Certified – per state requirements • 72 hours, self-sustained generator (Possible reuse of existing generator as cost saving measure) • Reuse existing 2- convault tanks for fuel island (Diesel and regular - 500 gallons each) • Architecture to match surrounding buildings
Site Requirements • The Existing fire station shall remain open at all times with ingress and egress 24 hours a day. • During construction, all utilities servicing adjacent and off-site facilities shall not be interrupted • Secure staging areas and site at all times with a 6 foot high chain link fence with wind screen • Drainage per SFWMD

Fire Station Program • Site requirements – parking, landscape , etc • Building requirements • Apparatus bay • Watch room • Medical supply room • Officers quarters • Fire fighters bunk rooms – 8 bunks • Restrooms • All requirements are detailed in the Design Criteria Package and included in the schematic drawings and specification book.
Bidding Important Dates • Pre bid meeting & site visit April 25, 2014 • Deadline for questions May 13, 2014 • Bids Due May 16, 2014 • Selection Committee short list May 30, 2014 • Oral Presentations June, 2014 • Project Award Presentation to Council July 10, 2014
Design Phase Design phase of the project will depend on Design-Builder approach to the project and negotiations for award. Owner Assumptions: 120 days for design Typical submittals of 50, 75, 100% City will require Design-Builder to assist in Site plan approval process
Site Plan Approval Process • Designed to Chapter 78 (Land Development Regulations) of the City’s Code • Existing Zoning – Public/Institutional (P/I) • Max lot coverage – 40% • Max build height – 45 ft • A fire station is classified as a Major Conditional Use • Plat will be provided by the City • The site will be a PUD and City will act as agent for site plan approval

Pre-Construction Phase Contractor obtains permits (City pays) • Pre-Construction Conference • Construction Schedule • Schedule of Values • Material Submittals • Construction Operations and Safety Plan
Construction Phase • Biweekly Progress Meetings • Confirmation Survey • Zero Safety Mishaps Post-Construction Phase • Punch List • O&M Manuals, Training, Spare Equipment and Finishes • As-Built Drawings (electronic) & velum
Fire Station Number 2 • Budget: $2,600,000 • 425 calendar days to Substantial Completion; 30 calendar days to Final Completion • Liquidated Damages of 0.01% of GMP per day • Optional Items: • Demo of existing fire station, landscape and irrigation of old station
