Potential Hazards • Unintentionally coming in contact with bodily fluids • Cross contamination • Common allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, milk/dairy, fish/seafood, shellfish etc) • Spread of bacteria or viruses
When should you wash your hands and or change your gloves? • Before, during and after preparing food • Before eating food • Before and after coming in contact with someone who is sick • After using the bathroom • After blowing your nose, coughing, sneezing, touching your hair • After touching garbage/trash • After any chance of contamination
Proper Hand Washing Technique • Wet your hands- with running warm water ( as warm as you can handle) and apply soap • Rub your hands together- make sure you make a lather and scrub them well in all crevices • Continue to Rub-a-dub-dub- for AT LEAST 20 seconds. • Sing Happy Birthday TWICE. (in a slow manner) • Sing- RESPECT by Aretha Franklin • Rinse your Hands well under running water • Dry your Hands- on a clean towel or on a paper towel
