  4. WHAT KEEPS ME FROM LETTING GO? • PRIDE - I DON’T WANT TO ADMIT I NEED HELP • GUILT - I’M ASHAMED TO ASK GOD FOR HELP

  5. FEAR - I’M AFRAID OF WHAT I’D HAVE TO GIVE UP • John 8:31-32 • Freedom is choosing who CONTROLS YOU. • Mark 8:36. • The Kingdom of God works BACKWARDS.

  6. WORRY • I CONFUSE DECISION-MAKING WITH PROBLEM-SOLVING • 1 Peter 5:7 • The Christian life is a DECISION followed by a PROCESS. • Philippians 1:6

  7. DOUBT - MY FAITH SEEMS SO SMALL Matthew 17:20) • It’s not the size of your FAITH that matters, but the size of your GOD !

  8. SO HOW DO I LET GO? • ACCEPT GOD’S SACRIFICE AS MY SALVATION. Acts 16:31 • ACCEPT GOD’S WORD AS MY STANDARD FOR LIVING. 2 Timothy 3:16

  9. ACCEPT GOD’S WILL AS MY GOAL IN LIFE. • Psalm 40:8 • ACCEPT GOD’S POWER AS MY STRENGTH. • Philippians 4:13 - Revelation 3:20

  10. O Principle #4:Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust.

  12. WHAT GUILT DOES TO ME • GUILT DESTROYS MY CONFIDENCE. • GUILT DAMAGES MY RELATIONSHIPS. • GUILT KEEPS ME STUCK IN THE PAST.

  13. GUILT cannot change the past just like WORRY cannot change the future; it just makes today miserable.

  14. WHAT HAS GOD DONE WITH MY SINS? • John 1:29 • Hebrews 10:17- • Isaiah 1:18- • Isaiah 43:25 – • Isaiah 44:22 – • Isaiah 55:7 – • Micah 7:19

  15. HOW DO I COME CLEAN? • Take a personal moral INVENTORY . • Lamentations 3:40 • Psalm 139:23-24 • Accept responsibility for my FAULTS. Proverbs 20:27 • 1 John 1:8

  16. Ask God for FORGIVENESS. 1 John 1:9

  17. HOW TO GET FORGIVENESS FROM GOD: • Don’t BEG- • Don’t BARGAIN • Don’t BRIBE • Just BELIEVE Isaiah 1:18

  18. Admit my faults to another PERSON. James 5:16 • I am only as sick as my SECRETS. • The devil always works through ISOLATION.

  19. Accept God's forgiveness • FORGIVE YOURSELF. • Romans 3:23-24

  20. HOW DOES GOD FORGIVE? • He forgives INSTANTLY • He forgives FREELY • He forgives COMPLETELY • Romans 8:1 • 1 John 3:19-20
