The Clean Temple: Part 3: The New Biological Approach to Health— pH Vitality Fasting
My Body, My Temple When I passed through the portal of life, I never knew how much you would mean to me. I never knew the gift I’d been given. I never knew how much I would depend on you. Now, I need you more than ever and I seem to forget your needs. Yet as I sustain the breath of life, you seem to remember mine. They say you only come along once in a lifetime That I only get one opportunity to get it right. But, sometimes I fail you. How is it, that you have never failed me? Sometimes, you get down, but you always seem to pick up again.
You recover and give me another chance. I hope that one day my petty desires don’t destroy you. I hope to remember that you only come along once in a lifetime. I hope to remember how much I need you. It is time to put away childish things, And remember that you are the temple of my spirit. …excerpt from “Thoughts that murder Brown Skinned Girls” by Carmellita M. What is fasting? Fasting is the process of abstaining from specific foods for a period of time. It is an effective means of detoxification and cleansing for the body. Fasting allows the body an opportunity to cleanse, repair, and replenish itself. It gives the digestive system a much needed break. The better your diet, the easier the fasting process. Imagine it this way; fasting is similar to giving your home a good cleaning. If you do a little cleaning each day, when you decide to give your home
a thorough cleaning, the task will not be so difficult. Similarly, when you eat healthful alkalizing living foods, the fasting process is not as difficult—physiologically.
Why Should One commit to a Fast? • A fast for many is a choice. Fasting is not starvation. It is a choice that requires commitment to an ultimate goal or outcome. It has been proven that if you are fasting with purpose you will accomplish the following: • Detoxification and Cleansing • Healing • Reducing Body Fat • Resolution and Discipline

Detoxification Detoxification and cleansing is pertinent to our longevity. In today’s environment, we have toxins, pollutants, and harmful chemicals we have to fight against each day. These harmful chemicals are absorbed by the body through the air we breathe, the pores in our skin, and through the water we drink. During a good fast, you can detoxify many of these chemicals from your body. Yes, it is true that you may still absorb these chemicals
while you are fasting. However, it is easier for the body to eliminate these chemicals during a fast because the body does not have to use any effort towards digesting and egesting. To that end, the most productive type of detoxification fast lasts 3-21 days. This type of fast consists mainly of juice—fresh juice. The juice of non-sweet fruits, high fiber vegetables, green leafy vegetables, and super-foods (wheat grass and barley grass). These juices are accompanied by Aloe Vera juice, psylium husk, liquid ionic minerals and phyto-nutrients, and lemon-water enemas. The process is as follows:
Step 1: Juice 6 glasses (8 oz.) of fresh juice a day using combinations of sweet fruit such as berries, apples, oranges, grapefruit, watermelon, and grapes (containing seeds); non-sweet fruits such as tomatoes and cucumbers; and green leafy vegetables such as kale, spinach, and turnip. Only two glasses of juice should be from sweet fruits.
Step 2: Juice 2 oz. of super-foods such as wheat grass. Step 3: Drink 4 oz of Aloe Vera juice daily. Step 4: Mix Juice from a lemon, cayenne, and 2-3 tablespoons of EPN or 100% Grade A Maple syrup (EPN is best) with water. Drink four (4) glasses– 32 oz. a day.
Step 5: Perform Lemon water enemas once a day for 3 consecutive days. For the remainder of the fast perform one enema every other day. The enema solution will consist of ¼ cup of lemon juice and water. You may prefer 3 back to back colonics which should be administered by a professional and licensed hydrotherapist.
Step 6: Regenerative Breathing exercises: • 100 breaths • Inhale for 6 counts • Hold for eight counts • Exhale for 8 counts • 100 swift breaths (inhaling and exhaling at a fast rate without holding breath) • Hold breath as long as you can and release.
Step 7: Bathing in 10 drops of essential oils such Rosemary, Eucalyptus, or Lavender. Step 8: Mild stretching or yoga Step 9: You may choose to visit a sauna for 1 hour once a week.

Healing A healing fasts is a 10 to 40 day process. Healing fast are for the purpose of addressing an ailment or an illness. Similar to the Detoxification fast (duration of healing fast is longer), the healing fast works well for persons suffering with hypertension, cancers, and ulcers. If one suffers from digestive disorders and is utilizing the healing fast to overcome such ailments, high citrus fruits such as oranges and non-sweet fruits such as tomatoes
cucumbers, peppers, and okra should be avoided. Instead, juice high fiber vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower, juice green leafy vegetables, and root plants such as radishes, carrots, and beets. Drinking plenty of Aloe Vera juice is important as well. The Healing fasts that last more than 10 days should be carefully monitored. Being in a low-stress environment and monitoring your stool, breathing, and perspiration is pertinent. Headaches may occur. If so, liquid ionic minerals can help. Headaches are signs of mineral deficiencies.
The process for a healing fast is as follows: Step 1: Juice 4 glasses of fresh juice a day using combinations of sweet fruits (choose green apples as often as possible), root plants such as beets, and non-sweet fruits such as tomatoes. Step 2: Juice 4 oz. of super-foods such as wheat grass and barley grass a day.
Step 3: Drink 4-6 oz. of Aloe Vera juice a day. Step 4: 6-8 cups of Lemon and cayenne (1/4 a teaspoon of cayenne and ¼ cup of lemon juice) Step 5: Lemon-water enemas once a day for the first 3 days and then once every other day for duration of fast. You may prefer 3 back to back colonics administered by a professional and licensed hydrotherapist.
Step 6: Regenerative breathing exercises twice daily (see Detoxification Fast for instructions). Step 7: Bathing in 10 drops of essential oils (rosemary, neoroli, lavender, eucalyptus, or peppermint) Step 8: Mild stretching or yoga

Fasting with purpose • Detoxification and Cleansing • Healing • Reducing Body Fat • Resolution and Discipline
Resolution and Discipline Fasting for resolution and discipline is often a difficult fast. It requires one’s full commitment to the process. During this type of fast, the fasting period ranges form 21 to 60 days. This type of fast is helpful in overcoming addictions including food addictions. Practicing yoga for 1 hour day is essential to the mind-body connection process. The process is identical to the Body Fat Reduction fast. Mantras and Prayers are also helpful during this process.
There are many benefits to the Discipline and Resolution fast. Specifically, the fast has been helpful in the following: • Overcoming addictions • Changing the diet • Becoming more focused and centered • Overcoming anger and intolerance of others • Overcoming a poverty state of mind • Increasing abundance • Transcendence
Symptoms you may experience during a fast Many of the fasting symptoms we experience are related to the body’s elimination, reparation, and replenishing cycles incurred during the fast. During each stage you may experience different symptoms. The duration of the symptoms depends on your diet prior to the fast. First is the elimination cycle. During this cycle you may experience the following symptoms:
Headaches • Dizziness • Inability to focus • Fatigue • Depression and/or anger • White strands of mucus found in stool • Runny nose • Watery eyes or pink eyes • Loss of Sexual desire
While the elimination cycle can be a rigorous process during the fast, the reparation cycle can be deceptive. During this stage from day 3 to 14 depending on your diet, you will feel a certain “burst” of energy. For many this feeling is similar to a stimulated high. However, this feeling can be deceptive. It doesn't mean you are ready to run a marathon. It is still wise to take things at a regulated pace. This energy is the body gearing up to repair the system. Improper utilization of this energy can cause a serious crash and a trip to the hospital!
The body is very complex. These symptoms occur because the body is ridding itself of toxins clogged in its tubes, organs, arteries, and membranes. The body is also eliminating: • Dead or dying cells • excess fatty tissue and trans-fatty acids • hardened mucus from the lungs and sinuses • toxins in the bloodstream, spleen, liver, kidneys, cells and tissues • excess cholesterol
After the reparation cycle it is time for the body to replenish itself. During the replenishing cycle. The body is restoring itself. It is important that we replace vital minerals in the body during this period. Replenishment occurs around day 15 until you “break” the fast. Using Liquid Ionic minerals for replenishment is most useful because they are in liquid form and will not interrupt the fasting process. In fact, these minerals will gear the body into an adjustment mode that helps to strengthen cell walls, restore the immune system, and prevent the body
from entering into shock when fats are introduced into the system once again.
Breaking the Fast! Some people get really ill after fasting. One cause of this problem is associated with an improper fast such as fasting on milk, bananas (and other hybrid foods), not consuming enough water—properly pH water, and improper breathing (shallow breathing which causes toxins to remain trapped in the body). Another cause is not “breaking” the fast properly. It is of utmost priority to insure that you break your fast properly.
Take the time to slowly reintroduce the foods you have avoided while fasting. Particularly fats. The best way to reintroduce food back to the body is for approximately two days after you have ended your fast, eat blended foods. Blending your food takes much of the weight from your food and it starts-up your digestive system once again. After two days on blended foods, slowly introduce fat back to the system by having fat only during lunch for about 2 days.
After this period, the body will be ready for a regular regimen of a properly pH balanced diet filled with raw fruits, nuts, seeds, grains, and vegetables.
The other Side of Fasting While the author whole-heartedly supports fasting, you must be warned about the other side of fasting. Because of the spiritual, intuitive, and euphoric experiences and feelings of fasting, many people become fasting addicts. Hard to believe, but some people get obsessed with the experience which leads to egotistical, lofty, and judgmental behavior. Often times these individuals may enter into a 40-60 day fast 3 times a year. Such behavior will lead to many problems:
Trouble with short-term memory • Inability to connect with others • Egoism • Loss of patience and temperance • Depletion of Intuitiveness • Lower energy vibrations caused by pride and egoism • Anxiety and paranoia • Anorexia Nervosa
A Vital Part of the Living Food Lifestyle • Fasting is a vital part of the living food lifestyle and helps increase the life-force and vitality that is “in” all of us. Introduce the fasting process slowly and methodically into your eating plan. You will reap tremendous rewards and benefits that will out weigh any depravity you may “think” you are experiencing.
The ANKH The ANKH is the (KMT) Kemetic or Ancient Egyptian symbol for eternal life. It was not the goal of the ancients to live forever, but to live abundantly in strength, wisdom, and vitality. The ANKH is a representation of that vitality which can last throughout eternity as the Soul develops in attunement and oneness with the ALL. I wish you hetep—supreme peace.
