  2. Sanctifying the Feast • Light the Candles • Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheynu Melech haolam asher kidshanu bemitzvotav vitzivanu lehadlik ner shel yom tov. • Blessed are You Lord our God King of the universe who has sanctified us by your commandments and commanded us to kindle the festival lights.

  3. This Season and Time • Second blessing • Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheynu Melech haolam, Shehekheyanu, v’kiy’manu, vehigiyanu laz’man hazeh. • Blessed are You Lord our God King of the universe Who has kept us in life, sustained us and brought us to this season.

  4. The Four Cups • Sanctification (Separation) • The Plagues • Redemption • Praise (Intimacy) • Fill the first cup

  5. The Cup of Sanctification • We sanctify ourselves to HaShem. • The first cup is filled • Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheynu Melech haolam, borey pri hagafin. • Blessed are You Lord our God King of the universe who has created the fruit of the vine. • Drink the Wine.

  6. Karpus (Parsley) • Dip the parsley in the salt water (tears) • Hold the parsley high • Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheynu Melech haolam, borey pri ha’adamah. • Blessed are You Lord our God King of the universe who has created the fruit of the earth.

  7. The Mystery of the Unity Three pieces of Matzah are found in the Tasch. The center one is removed and broken. ======== Abba (Father) ======== Ben (Son – Yeshua) ======== Ruach (Spirit)

  18. Matzah (Unleavened Bread) • We explain the Matzah. • It is Striped • It is Pierced • It is the Bread of Affliction. Literally “Lechem Anyah” (bread of the poor) • Leaven Represents Sin • It Pictures Messiah Without Sin

  22. Achilat Matzah (Eating Matzah) • Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheynu Melech haolam hamotzi lechem min ha’aretz. • Blessed are You Lord our God King of the universe who brings forth bread from the earth.

  23. Matzah cont’d. • Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheynu Melech haolam asher kidshanu bemitzvotav vitzivanu al achilat Matzah. • Blessed are You Lord our God King of the universe who has sanctified us by your commandments and commanded us to eat matzah.

  24. Maror (Bitter Herbs) • Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheynu Melech haolam asher kidshanu bemitzvotav vitzivanu al achilat maror. • Blessed are You Lord our God King of the universe who has sanctified us by your commandments and commanded us to eat bitter herbs.

  25. Korech (Hillel’s Sandwich) • In memory of the holy temple • Put Matzah and Maror together with Charoset (chopped apple, nuts, raisins, honey and wine)

  26. Shulchan Orech (dinner) • Remember that we are celebrating a “bitter/sweet” ceremony. • Not only were we redeemed and set free but some of our close friends lost family in the exodus. • Sing Dayenu (It would have been sufficient for us)

  27. Tzafun (Afikoman / Dessert) • The Matzah that was wrapped is found by a child. • The head of the table redeems the matzah with a small gift. • The Matzah is the last food tasted this evening.

  28. Barech (Grace after themeal) • Fill the third cup • All – May the name of the Eternal b e blessed from now and forevermore. • Leader – Blessed be our God, whose food we have eaten and in whose goodness we live. Blessed be He and blessed be His name.

  29. Barech (Grace after themeal) • All – May He who is most merciful, make us worthy to behold the days of the Messiah and eternal life in the world to come. He gives great salvation to His King, and shows mercy to His Anointed: to David, and his seed forever. May He who makes peace in His high heavens, grant peace to us, and to all Israel, and let us say, AMEN!
