  2. Voting • This is important because this opportunity that comes once in a while and if you don’t vote, your point of view or voice wont be heard. • On Election Days-Vote for people and issues in your government.

  3. Obeying Laws • This is important because you can keep people and the environment safe. • Ways to keep people and the environment safe: • Following all traffic laws like go speed limits. • No littering • No drunk diving/smoking in public places

  4. Respecting the Rights of Others • This example is just like: “Treat others how you want to be treated.” • Accept others differences of religion like don’t make fun of someone else skin colors • If someone else like privacy, don’t bother it/them.

  5. Being Informed about Current Issues • It is important because you need to know what is going on in your local community • Ways to know what is going on: • Watch the news on T.V. • Read the newspaper • Look online

  6. Paying Taxes {Parents pay} • Paying taxes help support- government services. • The types of taxes are: • Income taxes. • Property taxes • Sales taxes
