  2. S What do I do? The Nervous system is made up of the spinal cord, brain, nerves, ganglia, and parts of the receptor organs and that receives and delivers signals. Example/ When you place your hand on a hot stove the nerves in your hand tell you its hot therefore you remove your hand.

  3. H Organs in the nervous system • Brain • Brain Stem • Sensory Organs • Ear, • Eye • Olfactory Cells • Taste Buds • Nerves • Effectors Cells.

  4. D Links of the Organs! The nerves of the peripheral nervous system send signals to the central nervous system, which starts at the spinal cord and travels to the brain. The brain analyzes these signals and “responds” to the signal with a reaction.

  5. B The Central Nervous system! • Consist of the brain and spinal cord. • Integrates and processes impulses from sensory organs.

  6. B Peripheral Nervous System • Nerves connecting CNS to the rest of the body. • These nerves have two functions: relay sensory input impulses to the CNS and deliver motor out put motor output signals to the rest of the body.

  7. D Neurons • Cell Body- the mass of the cell and contains the organelles. • Dendrites- the “receiver” part of a cell, small extensions that receive signals from other cells. • Axons- the longest extension of the cell, covered by a layer of fat called the myelin sheath, and the axon sends signals to other cells.
