Process Review What is the process to register a new DDE, or make a change to an existing DDE’s systems or hardware?
New Registration • Interested parties/companies requesting Demand Designated Entity (“DDE”) status must declare interest • This is accomplished via an email or phone call to Customer Support: • custserv@iso-ne.com • 1-413-540-4220
New Registration • Customer Support will send the interested party the DDE Registration Form • The interested party will send the completed form back to Customer Service • Customer Service will enter the form into an Ask-ISO ticket and assign it to Demand Resource Administration Department, where the workflow will begin
New Registration • DRA will send the interested party all information required to become a DDE, and then will forward the request on to relevant ISO IT departments • These steps are necessary due to the long timeframes involved with setting up a new DDE – 90 days (OP-14 requirement) • Will ensure that all affected departments are made aware of the request, and to ensure it will not be mishandled between ISO departments
Change to existing DDE Systems • DDE systems in this context are defined as information not captured in CAMS, that require IT communication department support to implement: • Auto-ringdown circuits • Dedicated Bell Line circuits/numbers • Remote Terminal Units and associated circuits • Routers
Change to existing DDE Systems - Forms • Existing DDEs submitting changes to voice communications (ARD, DBLs) should submit an Ask-ISO ticket and request the DDE change form from Customer Service • If submitting changes to data circuits, Router or RTU, submit OP-18 appendix G, and requires 90 days (CEII – Customer Support can assist if required) • The DDE will then attach the appropriate form to the Ask-ISO ticket and workflow will begin
Change to existing DDE Systems • As with a new registration, this is necessary due to the long timeframes involved with changes to certain systems and hardware – circuit and • Will ensure that all affected departments are made aware of the request, will be met in a timely manner, can be properly tested and will not be mishandled between ISO departments
LP Changes DDE • If LP is switching their DDE to another approved DDE, no less than 30 days written notice to ISO is required (OP-14) • If LP is switching to a proposed DDE who has not yet met the technical requirements to be a DDE, no less than 90 days written notice is required (OP-14)
