Credible 2004 Traffic Performance • Dec 2004 traffic was the highest in our airport history • The System of Airports (excl. Johor Bahru) handled 3,987,025 passengers in Dec, 392,500 above the highest ever recorded which was in Dec 2003 • KLIA handled 2,153,629 passengers in Dec 2004, 311,154 above the highest in Dec 2003 • KLIA also handled 1,331,138 passengers, the highest number of international passengers in Dec 2004, the previous record being in Aug 2004

Awards & Accolades • 2004 • KLIA was ranked fifth in the Airport of the Year 2004 survey organised by Skytrax Research, a British based air travel industry research company • KLIA received the Aerodrome Certification from the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) – a mandatory requirement by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) which requires all international airports open for public use to provide uniform safety conditions for all aircraft.
Awards & Accolades • 2004 • KLIA is the first airport in the Asia Pacific region and the first Travel and Tourism organisation in Malaysia to be Green Globe 21 certified, which requires the commitment to continual identification, control and improvement of the environment and social impacts of the airport’s operations • KLIA was third in the Favourite Asian Airport category for the TIME Readers’ Choice Awards survey • KLIA was second in the Best Airport category in the Telegraph Travel Award 2004 – study of the travel tastes and habits of British consumers, based on the annual poll of selected readers of The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph
