  2. Business Support The Population Growth Division of DPETL works closely with our various partners, such as those on this panel, to develop programs, services and resources to help business immigrants succeed in New-Brunswick.

  3. Pre-arrival Business Support • Entrepreneurial business orientation • Two guides were developed • Orientation officers manual* • Business applicants manual* • Will be piloted in China, Vietnam and the Middle East. • Partners: • Canadian Immigrant Integration Program (CIIP) • CIIP four office locations: China, India, Philippines and UK • Canadian Chamber of Commerce overseas • Currently with Design services, will be printed in English and French. Hoping for a launch early in 2013.

Business Services • Business Immigrant Mentorship Programs (BIMP) • in Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John, Bathurst and Edmundston • Business training sessions • Associated with the Business Immigrant Mentorship Programs • Business for sale website (www.futurenb.ca) • Business language class (English and French) • Fredericton, Moncton, and Saint John • Support after business opening • E.g. marketing support by BIMP

Business Immigrant Mentorship Program Program Highlights: • One-on-one mentoring • Meet one or two hours per week • Discussion of how to start or operate business • Local business/workplace culture and environment • Professional networking events • Educational events • Cultural competency training • Import/Export information session • Market research • Integration into local business community

  6. Business Mentorship Program Stats • Pool of active mentors: 68 • Number of mentees from the establishment of the BIMP: 231 • Number of mentees started or starting business: roughly 86
