STUDENT PHONE PROGRAM Student Recruitment • Recruitment Efforts • Heavy email and flyering at end of 3rd term • Strong word of mouth among students • Great exposure at Frosh BBQ • Recruitment/Good luck tables daily last two weeks of term at gym and various places on campus • Summer • 22 students total • 2 supervisors • Record number of students on payroll • All but 2 eligible for employment next year

STUDENT PHONE PROGRAM Gifts & Pledges Raised to Date are Over $175,000 • As of August 29, $172,319 • Raised $80,783 Summer 2002 • Raised $96,860 Summer 2003 • High pledge fulfillment rate attributed in part to 30% of all gifts on credit card • Average pledge up to $137 from $111 last year GOAL: $300K

STUDENT PHONE PROGRAM Number of Pledges to Date is 1300 • As of August 29, 1257 pledges • Collected 833 pledges Summer 2002 • Collected 713 pledges Summer 2003 • Students very successful when called back “Will Gives” to convert to pledges • Students periodically made pledge reminder calls to collect outstanding pledges of 6+ months GOAL: 3000

TRACK TEAM CHALLENGE • Challenge took place during Spring term from April 12-19, 2003 • 23 track students participated • Collected 130 pledges • Raised $14,360 • Raised $700 for team • Great AF exposure • Students from all houses and classes • Piqued interest of other athletic teams • Lots of fun!

Senior Class Gift 2003 • Met with Senior Reps early in year, project very slow to get off the ground • Met with Physical Plant to discuss campus needs • Seniors decided on Tangerine tree, total cost estimated at approximately $600 • Class would also like to include commemorative Plaque as part of gift • SCG “Progress-to-Date” root beer float party at end of 3rd term • Total $- xx • Total participation- xx

  10. Seminar Day BBQTraditions The Seminar Day BBQ was held on Saturday afternoon following a reception at the Broad center. There were approximately 400 people in attendance, mostly alumni and their spouses. There were about 70 students, representing all seven undergraduate Houses. Alumni were invited to serve themselves a plate and then proceed to a House table. There they sat with fellow housemates and current students. The idea behind the House tables was to initiate a conversation between students and alumni about traditions. The alumni enjoyed hearing about the Caltech of today from the students and were happy to share stories about the Caltech of the past.
