The Fishing Industry in Ireland • Ireland's fishing industry is heavily concentrated on the west coast. • About 3,000 fishing boats work around the Irish coasts.  • Killybegs is Irelands largest fishing port.  • The following fish are caught in the Irish sea; cod, pollock, haddock, plaice, mackerel, John Dory, sole, salmon, ling and herring.
