Click “Jesse” for movie. Jesse James Jesse Woodson James was born on September 5, 1847 and died April 3, 1882. He was an American outlaw, gang leader,and a bank and train robber from Missouri.Jesse and his older brother Frank were confederate soldiers during the Civil War but were accused of killing there own army.
Frank James Alexander Franklin James was born on January 10, like his younger brother was a union soldier and fought for the north. He was also accused for killing his fellow soldiers.
James Gang • Jesse James was the most popular member. Jesse was also the leader of the gang with his brother Frank second in command. Click pic for video.
Robert Ford Click on name for video. • Robert Ford was also in the James Gang. Robert Ford is important in my power point because he murdered Jesse James. Ford did it to gain the reward. He also was dismissed from all of his past crimes.
After Jesse’s Death Click pic for song. • After Jesse’s death Frank took charge and led the gang for about 5 years. After the gang broke up Frank went to the governer of Missouri to turn himself in. Click on title for webpage.
Missouri Governer • When Frank went to the govener this is what he said. “I have been hunted for twenty-one years, have literally lived in the saddle, have never known a day of perfect peace. It was one long, anxious, inexorable, eternal vigil." He then ended his statement by saying, "Governor, I haven't let another man touch my gun since 1861.”
Surrender • Frank surrendered and was charged on many accounts of murder and robbery. But eventually all charges were dropped.
Franks Final Years • In Franks final years he worked at many jobs from a shoesales men to a ticket puncher for the local train.
Shoe Salesmen Frank had this coversation to one man that came into the store. "One day, a big, gruff bully barged his way into the shoe department at Sangers'. Waiting on him was the well-dressed, soft-spoken Frank James. After boisterously ordering the salesman around, the bully threatened him, saying, 'Do you know who I am? I'm Bill Duggans and I've got a mind to bust you up-side the head if you don't find me in the boots I want.'"'Mr. Duggans, do you know who I am?'"'No, who are you?'"'I'm Frank James. Perhaps you've heard of me and my brother, Jesse.'"With that the bully's face grew pale, his knees began to tremble, and through clenched teeth and a forced smile he said meekly, 'I like these here boots 'jes fine, and if it's all right with you, I'll take 'em,' and with that he left the store in a big hurry."
Franks Death • Frank went back to his families farm and gave tours for 25 cents. Then at the age of 92 Frank died where he was born.
