Service Standards Recommendations • USPS conduct review of the existing standards and update as necessary • Use Fall Mailing guideline format for destination-entry mail • Expand to include Origin-entry mail • Retain service standard CD for Origin-entered Mail • Ensure consistency • Express delivery standard as a range of days • Separate standards for carrier-route presort and non carrier-route mail

  3. Standard Mail Subgroup Current Service Standard Recommendation * See detailed 3-digit pairs service standards in Service Standard CD

  4. Service Standards Recommendations • Adjust service standard for seasonal/fall mailing season • Increase service standard delivery day range by 1 day (except for DDU mail) • Fall mailing defined as: September through November • Create ongoing review/update process of Service Standards • Business rules changes • Demonstrated performance • New technology • Include industry input

  5. Additional Issues • Service in non-contiguous states • Forwards/Returns • Other?
