introduction • Measels is a high contagious, serious disease caused by a virus.it remains one of the leading causes of death among young children globally, despite of avaibility for a safe and effective vaccine.an estimated 164 000 people died from measles in 2008 – mostly children under the age of five. • Measles is a caused by a virus in the paramyxovirusfamily.the measles virus normally grows in the cells that line the back of the throat and lungs.measles is a human disease and in not known to accur in animals. • Measles is an infection of the respiratory system caused by a virus, specifically a paramyxovirus of the genus morbillivirus.morbilliviruses, like other paramyxoviruses,areenveloped,single-stranded,negative-sense RNA viruses.
Materials & methods • In the present study 20 cases were considered in which the blood samples of 20 patients were collected with the help of sterilized needle and syringe. These tests are following: 1.indirect immunoglobulin M(IgM) serology tests 2.salivary diagnosis of measles 3.reverse transcriptase PCR analysis For all the mentioned tests serum was the primary requirement which was seperated from the clotted blood by centrifuging the blood samples.
Collection of sample is a simple, safe and quick procedure done in the following steps • The name and identification are checked in order to maintain it for future records. • A tourniquet is placed around the patient’s arm usually in front elbow, which helps to identify a suitable vien. • The patient’s hand is pulped a number of times in order to increase the blood flow of that area. • After disinfection of the site with alcohol wipe a needle is inserted into the vien to withdraw blood. The blood from the syringe is then transferred into plain vials for clot.
conclusion • Measles is best known for causing a rish in childhood, but measles can affect other parts of the body and sometimes occur in adults. Vaccination has significantly reduced the number of case in the united state, although isolated outbreaks continue to occur. There are two types of measles, each cause by a different virus.Although both produce a rash and fever, they are really different diseases: The rubeola virus causes “red measles” also known as “hard measles” or just “measles”.Although most people recover without problems, rubeola can lead to pneumonia or inflammation of the brain (encephalitis).
