  5. Skylab crew #2 • Alan L. Bean (Left) • Jack R. Lousma(Middle) • Owen K. Garriott(Right) • Continued maintenance • Completed 858 Earth orbits

Voyager 1 & 2 Jupiter • Closest approach to Jupiter on March 5, 1979 (Voyager 1) • Closest approach to Jupiter on July 9, 1979 (Voyager 2) • Photography of Jupiter began on January 1979 • Voyager 1 completed its Jupiter encounter in early April. Taking almost 19,000 pictures • Voyager 2 completed its Jupiter encounter into August. Taking 33,000 pictures of Jupiter and its 5 major satellites.

Voyager 1 & 2 Saturn • Pioneer 11 carried out the first fly by of Saturn on Septermber 1979 • Images taken of the planet and a few of its moons • Spacecraft also studied saturns rings • November 1980 the Voyager probe visited Saturns Systems. • Surface features of various moons were seen for the first time
