Testing Guide Updates • 8624 Product and Service Sales changed from 120 to 60 hours • This causes changes in career major hours in following majors • Fashion Buyer • Visual Merchandiser • Mobile Marketing • Franchise Owner • Independent Distributor • Retail Management • Marketing Communications Associate • Assistant Sales Manager • Customer Service Representative • Professional Sales Representative • Sales Assistant

  4. Testing Guide Updates • Entrepreneurship Awareness hours changed from 60 to 120 • Caused changes in following major hours: • Franchise Owner • International Business Entrepreneur • Introduction to Entrepreneurship • Small Business Entrepreneur

Testing Guide Updates • Franchise Owner – Added Business and Marketing Communications • International Business Entrepreneur – Added Fundamentals of technology and Entrepreneurship Awareness • Small Business Entrepreneur – Added Fundamentals of Technology and deleted International Business and Marketing course • Assistant Sales Manager – Added Product & Service Sales course • Sales Assistant – Product and Service Sales added as course • Sport Marketing Assistant – Added Advertising Strategies course

  6. Testing Guide • Be sure Required Prerequisites are met • If one exam appears multiple times under one major, student needs to complete all courses in that major where exam is listed prior to taking exam to increase pass rate and body of knowledge • Look at Certification Codes handout

  7. Newly Proposed Majors • Need to include outcomes and industry alignment • Important for testing and gradecard • Check other existing majors to prevent duplication or near duplication

  8. Century 21 Skills • Becoming very important • See handout • Be sure to be including technology integration and use into your classes • See Century 21 handout

  9. Evaluations • Teachers asked to create and use a Wiki or Blog to begin incorporating Century 21 Skills into classroom • Learning Management Systems • Moodle, Edmodo, ICAT, BlackBoard, etc. • Make your life easier • Advisory Boards • Cannot share boards with CareerTech Center/High School • Need separate boards (Can serve on each, but need to be separate)

  10. Grants and Incentive Monies • Cannot be used in commons areas • Needs to be for technologies in classroom • Cannot be used for DECA fundraising activities • No poster printers • Many are incorporating Ipads into Classroom • Several sessions Friday on technology in classroom • Helpful for incorporating 21st Century Technology Skills
