Food They ate some different foods from we do today. They ate peanut soup, Tidewater Chili, and pumpkin gnocchi.
Shelter The middle class lived in 1-2 room houses, most including an attic. Poor people lived in dugouts. The dugout was a one room home called the keeping room, were everything was done. Rich people lived on large plant plantations, know today as mansions. They had slaves working for them.
Southern States There are five different unique Southern states. They are the following: Georgia, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Founding Fathers John Adams was known for being the second president of the United States. James Madison was known for writing the Untied States Constitution. Alexander Hamilton was known for being the first Secretary of the Treasurer. in the United States Benjamin Franklin was known for discovering the light bulb.
Clothing The clothing was very different from how it is today. The men wore waistcoats, breeches, and stockings. The woman wore stays, gowns, petticoat, and lace aprons.
Education The children did many things in school. They practiced making letters on slate boards, and reading books. Girls would sit by the window sewing.
New England States New England contains of four different states. They are the following: Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
Middle Atlantic States The Middle Atlantic colonies contains of four different states. They are the following: New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Music The music of the thirteen colonies was listening to the fife and drums play.
Games and Crafts For games and crafts the colonial children had narrow options. Outside they could walk on stilts, or play a famous game called nine pins. Inside they could do a board game, a puzzle, or play cards.
The Things That Made Each Region Unique In New England fishing was very important and popular. In the Middle Atlantic Colonies some of the larger cities were major shipping hubs. In the Southern Colonies it was based entirely on farming.

Most Dependent on Slavery The region that was most dependent on slavery was the Southern region. This was because they had large plantations that the slaves worked in, and the land owners were not willing to work in the fields themselves.
The Background and Purpose of the Jobs Basket Making was a job in the colonial times. They needed a basket for the rural life style. They would use white oak. It was common for a whole family to make baskets. Silver smith was also a common job in the colonial times. It was a family business for men. They made glasses, tea pots, buttons, and silver ware. Also Brick Makers was a jobs. Unskilled labors made bricks. It was a widely unappreciated job. Land owners assigned slaves to Brick Making.
