Extensions to the Path Computation Element Communication Protocol (PCEP) for Route Exclusionsdraft-oki-pce-pcep-xro-00.txt March 21, 2008 Eiji Oki (NTT) Adrian Farrel (Old Dog Consulting)
Summary of this draft • This draft defines protocol extensions • Allow PCC to specify route exclusions to PCE on path computation request. • PCECP generic requirements [RFC4657] includes route exclusions. • Two types of route exclusion (ietf-ccamp-rsvp-te-exclude-route-06.txt) • Exclude Route List • Exclusion of certain abstract nodes or resources on the whole path. • Explicit Route Exclusion • Exclusion of certain abstract nodes or resources between a specific pair of abstract nodes present in an explicit path.
Summary of this draft (Cont’d) • Exclude Route List • New PCEP object defined as the Exclude Route Object (XRO). • Explicit Route Exclusions • Existing Include Route Object (IRO) in PCEP modified by introducing • New IRO subobject, • Explicit Exclusion Route Subobject (EXRS)
Comment from JP • Move F bit from the RP object to XRO • F bit in RP object is used for path computation of a new TE LSP after a failure • Giving the bandwidth back to the TED before computing the new path • Exclude failed links.
Next step… • Add F bit in XRO in next revision. • Accept this draft as a WG I-D? • We appreciate your feedback.
