  1. PUMP TESTING BY KAUSTUBH V GITAPATHI DIRECTOR VI AUTOMATION (P) LTD, PUNE

  2. Pump Test - Requirement • No Load Test • High Voltage Test • Insulation resistance – Measured with 500V DC • On Load Test • Lock Rotor Test • CALCULATED PERFORMANCEAT ACTUAL FREQUENCY • Flow • Head • Pressure • Efficiency

  3. Pump Test - Parameters Measured3 Phase 0.5HP to 300 HP 1 Phase 0.5HP to 003 HP • Voltage • Current • Resistance • Frequency • RPM • Pressure • Flow • Leakage Current (HV Test – 1.5KV) • Insulation Resistance • Starting torque • Temperature

  4. Pump Test - Parameters Controlled • Solenoid valve for Lock Test (24 V)

  5. Pump Test – No Load Test • No load tests could be done at the various voltages starting from 150V to 450V. The system would be programmed to carry out the tests at the following voltages. • For three phase: 150V 200V 250V 300V 350V 400V 415V 450V 1000 v • For single phase • 140V 160 V 180 V 200V 220V 230 V

  6. Pump Test – No Load Test • The following parameters would be recorded and tabulated • Voltage • Current • Power • Frequency • CW RPM • CCW RPM • Slip • Resistance

  7. Pump Test – High Voltage Test • High voltage test would be carried out by connecting 1500V AC across the coils and motor body. The leakage current in mA would be recorded. An indicator light will glow to indicate if the leakage current is at acceptable levels. If the current exceeds the limit another light will glow indicating failure.

  8. Pump Test – Insulation resistance – Measured with 500V DC • The insulation resistance in mega ohms would be determined by applying 500V DC across the coils and the motor body. The resistance in mega ohms will be recorded • An indicator light will glow to indicate if the resistance is at acceptable levels. If the resistance is less than the limit another light will glow indicating failure.

  9. Pump Test – Locked Rotor test • The following parameters will be recorded in locked rotor condition. The rotor would be physically locked during this test. • Voltage • Current • Power

  10. Pump Test – On Load test • Load test will be done by varying the flow rate with the help of motorized valve. Tabulated readings as well as graphical display of various parameters Vs flow rate will be provided. The following parameters would be measured and displayed graphically as and when required to be viewed • Current Vs Flow rate • Power Vs Flow rate • Efficiency Vs Flow rate • Pressure Vs Flow rate

  11. Pump Test – Parameters Display • Resistance: RB, YB, RY • Pump Type • Flow • Head • Supply Frequency • Overall Efficiency • NP in KW • NM in KW • Sp. Gr. Of liquid used for testing. • Motor Type • Motor Rated Power in KW • Frequency, Voltage and Current.

  12. Pump Test – No Load Parameters Display • Voltage • Current (Run, Start and Line) • CU Loss (Calculated) • Power • Power CU Loss at No Load (Calculated)

  13. Pump Test – On Load Parameters Display at Actual Frequency • Current (Run, Start and Line) • Power • STATOR Input • STATUS CU Loss (Calculated) • Losses (Mechanical, Iron, CU Loss) (Calculated) • Frequency • RPM Direct Input from (CW, CCW)

  14. Pump Test – Sample Report

  15. Pump Test – Additional Features • Interface with company Database • Reporting in Company Format • Data Sharing on Internet • Any customized requirement

  16. Pump Test – System Components • Data Acquisition System • Energy Meter • Slip- Speed Meter • Magnetic Flow Meter • Temperature Indicator • Head Meter • Solenoid Valve
