Fast Access WorkBook’s “Smart Bay” can operate any of the following interchangeable components: All of these components can be either field swapped, or self-serviced on demand – a crucial time saver. The WorkBook also features a removable hard disk drive (HDD). A unique “coin-screw release” keeps the drives and battery securely in place while they are in use but allows for their easy removal without requiring any tools, a process Howard refers to as FAST ACCESS.

  5. Device Integration The WorkBook has a surface mounted motherboard with a PCI slot allowing for the connection of several peripherals onto the motherboard. These modules can include: Fax Modem CDPD Modem LAN Card Wireless Modem 2 Internal COM Ports GPS Receiver Other device integrations for special applications can be addressed through Howard’s Open Architecture Design.   6. Alpha-Star Sunlight Readable LCD Howard’s Alpha-Star Technology includes a series of electronic and passive enhancements contributing to what we believe is a superior sunlight readable LCD. Through our unique process, Howard was able to significantly increase the contrast and reduce reflective glare. .

The vehicle dockunder was designed with a convenient downward port design for user-friendly connectivity/mounting. Both office and vehicle dockunders come with a key lock mechanism for additional security. Docking Howard Computers offers dockunders for both vehicle and office environments. The office dockunder features an extra PCI slot for increased expansion capabilities.
