Verbs often end in: 1.-ate, e.g.activate,rotate. 2.-ed, e.g.allowed,invented. 3.-en, e.g.harden,shorten. 4.-ify, e.g.clarify, purify. 5.-ing, e.g.eating,playing. 6.-ise, e.g.compromise. Adjectives often end in: 1.-able or –ible, e.g. capable, intelligible. 2.-ed, e.g. astonished, interested. 3.-ful, e.g. colourful, useful. 4.-ing, e.g. amazing, exciting. 5.-ious, e.g. cautious, delicious. 6.-ive, e.g. active, attractive. 7.-less, e.g. careless, hopeless. 8.-y, e.g. cloudy, sleepy.
