Also performed by Peter, Paul and Mary.   • Bob Dylan introduced this song by saying “This here ain’t no protest song or anything like that, ‘cause I don’t write no protest songs” (Dylan). He only took 10 minutes to write this song. This song is on his album, The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan. His lyrics were not only moving but also spiritual which made for a sweet protest song of the 1960’s. (History Channel)

Also performed by The Byrds’ • This song was featured on his 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home, produced by Tom Wilson. Dylan wrote this song was on a road trip with friends. He came up with the song from a session with a guy named Bruce Langhorne who was playing a big tambourine. Its big misconception is that it is a song about drugs with the Mr. Tambourine Man supposedly representing Dylan’s drug dealer. (Song Facts)
