  1. Masters of War by Bob Dylan Joseph Flynn

  2. This song criticizes the US government for sending teenagers to the war in Vietnam. The cruelty as well as the the lack of respect they showed towards the heroes of the war is also included in the song.

  3. Background The Vietnam War occurred in present-day Vietnam. It was basically the communists versus the people who wanted democracy. The northern Vietnamese were backed by the Russian (Who were communists themselves), and the southern Vietnamese backed by the US.

  4. I think that this is about saying that he can see the truth and not what the government tells people This part says that once somebody is sent to war, the government does nothing to help the soldiers and abandons them when the shooting starts In this part, he accuses the government of lying and tells them that he can see through them

  5. The government send you men to war and once they get their, they are watched from safety as they are killed He is saying in this part, that the Government isn’t worth anything because they threaten and send young people in to the horror of war This is saying that that the atrocities that the Governments commit by sending young people into war is unforgivable .

  6. Why I chose this song I chose this song because: • It is about something that interests me, • I found the lyrics interesting because he’s openly opposing the government and because of some of the lines he uses to describe the war.
