  27. Additional Help Algebra Elective Students who fail the state mandated MATH test in junior high are required to take this Local-Credit Course. Reading 1 Students who fail the 8th Grade state mandated Reading testare required to take this course.

  34. GRADUATION PLANS 26 RHSP Two years of the sameForeign Language (Ex: Spanish 1 & 2) 26 DAP Three years of the same Foreign Language (Ex: French 1, 2, & 3) and 4 Advanced measures (3.0 or higher on AP Exam or 3.0 or higher in Dual Credit Classes)

  38. Exceptions World Geography: If you take World Geography in summer school prior to entering the 9th grade, you will NOT take Social Studies as a Freshman. Math and Foreign Language: Sign up for the next level if you have high school credit on your transcript. (Geometry not offered to incoming 9th graders in summer school)

  39. REQUIRED FOR GRADUATION One Year of Fine Arts • Theatre • Technical Theatre 1 • Band (Spring Semester) • Orchestra • Choir • Dance or Dance Team Training • Color guard (Spring Semester) • Art 1 • Art 2* • Floral Design

  40. Band / Orchestra / Choir • Must already play an instrument. This is NOT instruction to learn a new instrument. • Audition with Directors for appropriate placement. • BAND - Fall Semester = PE CreditSpring Semester = Fine Arts Credit

  41. Foreign Language • 2 Years of the SAME Foreign Language for RHSP • 3 Years of the SAME Foreign Language for the DAPForeign Languages Offered at SLHS Spanish American Sign Language French Chinese German Japanese * * Offered after school only

  42. American Sign Language • Meets GR requirement for foreign language • Currently we may offer • ASL 3 every other year • (not this year but next)

  43. Physical Education • 2 Semesters of Physical Education • Activity PE 1 = 1 Semester • Activity PE 2 = 1 Semester • OR • Athletics • Band (Marching = 1 Semester/Year) • Color guard (Marching = 1 Semester/Year)

Athletics • Prior experience required; not a time to learn a new sport • Certain sports may need coach approval • Physical Examination required • If you are cut from a sport, you will be placed in a regular PE class • Minimum 2 semesters to fulfill PE graduation requirement • The first year will be the PE graduation requirement; the next 3 years will count as elective credit towards graduation
