Go over information for AP Lit vs. DE English, Social Studies Electives, and other scheduling questions • Give out handout with mc answers to passages 16-28 • Assign and work on English Passage before 1800s in group—due at end of period • Continue working on Song Presentation—due next class period • Remember we will be signing up for our SENIOR YEAR classes next time we meet AP Agenda for April 30

  4. -PEER EDITING IS DUE AT 11:59 PM ON LITERARY ANALYSIS RESEARCH PAPER; We will have no in-class time to do this due to FAIR testing hijacking the labs • Read The Sound of a Voice on p. 1751 • -I need volunteers to be the Man, Woman, and Italics Person • -Pay attention as we read to the symbolism of sound, flowers; the themes of isolation and fear of falling in love • Read Samuel Beckett’s Come and Go in Elements of Literature book (p. 1342) • -I need 3 volunteers to act the parts of Flo, Vi, and Ru • -We will go over the questions on p. 1348 • -Write and perform your own Theatre of the Absurd play—on your own or with a group • Read Harold Pinter’s That’s All (p. 1350) • -I need two volunteers to act the parts of Mrs. A and Mrs. B • -We will go over the questions on p. 1355 • Complete a brief dialogue between two people discussing a third person, try to shape all three characters by what is said and unsaid, use the line “That’s all” in your dialogue, and perform it in front of the class when finished. • As you work on this, I will be attempting to conference with you on your rough draft of your literary analysis research paper (since I will not be putting comments on your rough draft) • Remember next class period is your test and essay on The Importance of Being Earnest. You should not write your essay ahead of time even though I am giving you the topics ahead of time! DE Agenda for May 1
