Apostasy happened Reformation Restoration
The Restoration plea is a “back to the Bible” plea The World today needs to go “back to the Bible”
Why go back to the Bible? It is God’s Word It is our guide We will be judged by it
Mt. 1:22-23 – The Virgin born Son of God [22] Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,[23] Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Our Savior – Mt. 1:21 [21] And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Our High Priest & Advocate – 1 Jn. 2:1-2 [1] My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: [2] And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Jesus will be our Judge – Mt.25:31-32 [31] When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: [32] And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
There is one church – Eph. 5:23 [23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Christ is founder of the church – 1 Cor. 3:11 [11] For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Christ is Head of the church – Col. 1:18 [18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
The church worships in Spirit and in Truth – Jn. 4:24 [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
There is one Savior and one way to be saved – Jn. 14:6 [6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
We must hear the Gospel – Rom. 10:17 [17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
We must believe the gospel – believe that Jesus is the Son of God – Jn. 8:24 [24] I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
We must repent of sins – Lk. 13:5 [5] I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
We must confess our faith in Christ – Rom. 10:8-10 [8] But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;[9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.[10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
We must be baptized into Christ – Rom. 6:3-4 [3] Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?[4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Christians are “salt” and “light” – Mt. 5:13-16 [13] Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. [14] Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
[15] Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. [16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven
Christians deny ungodliness – Titus 2:11-12 [11] For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,[12] Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world
Christian’s follow Christ’s example – 1 Pet. 2:21-22 [21] For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:[22] Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
