Plural “s” • The plural form of a noun indicates simply that there are more than one of the person or thing in question. • For most nouns, the plural form includes the letter "s" at the end of the word Examples • The dogs were very tired. • All the leaves are turning colors. • I liketurtles.
Contraction “s” • A contraction is a word made by combining two words and leaving out one or more letters. An apostrophe shows where the letters have been omitted. • (Hint) Use sentence by adding IS to see if it fits in sentence. Examples: • She’s a nice lady. • There’s a party at my house on Friday.
Possessive “s” • A possessive form of a noun signifies that the noun owns something • Possessive nouns may be common or proper. They may also be singular or plural.
