Objectives of the event Objectives • To bring staff up to date on Public Health transition developments in Lancashire • To provide an opportunity for Public Health staff from across Lancashire to get to know each other • To familiarise staff with the Public Health Lancashire Business Plan, the themes and the 11 priority objectives • To clarify the next steps in the process

What we know… Public Health • Responsibility for the health improvement functions of PCTs will pass to local authorities • Director of Public Health employed by upper tier local authority (jointly with Public Health England) • The resources we currently spend on Public Health in Lancashire • PCT Cluster and Upper tier Local Authority Chief Execs produce Public Health transition and governance plan • Local Public Health function will provide support to CCGs
What isn’t certain at this stage… Public Health • How much the ring fenced Public Health grant will be, allocation formula, top slice for Public Health England • How Public Health England will interface locally • The services that will be funded by the ring fenced Public Health grant • If /how Public Health outcome framework will be performance managed • How the health premium will work
What we know… Health & Well-being Board • Statutory committee of the upper tier local authorityCore membership • Responsibilities: producing Joint Strategic Needs Assessment & health and wellbeing strategy; co-ordinating NHS, social care and public health commissioning plans; promoting integration • Majority of upper tier Local Authority's will be expected to have shadow HWB by October 2011 • Integration of organisations and agendas
