Platform evaluationcriteria: usability A platform from Portfoliumpresents a simple and intuitive interfaceboth to the end user and the assessor/administrator. Wefound it easy to navigatetheplatformguided by context-sensitive tips and the online real-time support . PebblePad appears more complex, especiallywithrespect to the ATLAS management backend and presents a steeperlearningcurve. Weexperienced a prompt response to email support requests.
Platform evaluationcriteria: scalability * Reporting functionality have not beentested due to little data available. The preliminaryevaluation is basedonthedescription given during theplatformpresentation and theassociateddocumentation. With flexiblereporting as a criticalrequirement, werecommend more testing with a largerdataset. Possibly more specific reports can be defined in practice.
Platform evaluationcriteria: flexibility Bothfaculties and students usingPortfoliumretain a free, lifelongaccess to theirportfoliosaftertheyleave or changetheinstitution. PebblePadprovides Personal Pebble + Alumniaccount for as long as theinstitutionpaysthePebblePadlicense and up to 3 yearsafterthat. At thispoint a lowannualfeewill be charged.
Platform evaluationcriteria: interoperability *Displaying a list ofresearchpublications from CRIStinon a facultyprofilepage is a desiredfeature whichcan be madeavailable via API.
