Grading Policy • Grading Policy • Homework 20% • Classwork 20% • Notebook Quizzes 15% • Assessments (Quizzes, Tests, Projects) 45%
Late Homework Policy • 3 Late passes a term for homework (1 day extension). Students can receive 100% if they use a late pass. • If late passes have been exhausted or if homework is submitted more than a day late, the max credit is 70%. • All late assignments are discussed after school and are submitted to the late bin. Proper documentation is required on any late work submitted to the bin to ensure proper credit is received. Class time is not used to catch up, review grades, and make up work. • Students should use the WIKI and Portal to review grades, obtain missing assignments, and verify scores. Students should see me outside of class time to discuss concerns regarding individual grades. • If students require assistance with their grade or has a concern about a specific missing assignment, they must see me after school.
Late Class Work Policy • Classwork is checked the next day. Students have ample time to complete the assignment in class. Most of the time we review the answers too. If for any reason they do not complete the assignment, they have additional time to finish it at home. It is not checked until the following day. • Late classwork is penalized unless there is extraordinary circumstances (max score is 70%). • If a classwork assignment is submitted more than one week late, it becomes a permanent zero.
Absent Make Up Work • Students have one day for each day missed + one day (per school handbook). Late penalties will apply if work is not completed within a reasonable time frame after return to school. • Students must make arrangements to make up missed quizzes and tests after school! Arrangements should be made within a week after they return to school. • Students should use the Wiki to stay informed about what they miss. Most worksheets can be downloaded from the site. • Class time can not be used to brief students about lessons missed because it interferes with the current lesson planned for the class that day. Students must come after school if they need support after an absence or if they need to make up an assessment.
