1. Simulation results of channeling and reflection collimation in Tevatron (based on I.Yazynin report) Improvement of efficiency of Collimation due to channeling: Good factor, narrow angular region Improvement of efficiency due to multi-reflection: Less factor, but more wide angular range.
Results of testing of IHEP multi-reflectors in beam line (CERN H8). Courtesy of H8-RD22 Enhancement (approximately in 7 times) of reflection effect of protons with 400 GeV energy in multicrystal. The total angle of reflection is 70 microradian at efficiency of process over 90 %.
Testing of multi-reflectors in circulating beam of 70 GeV Protvino accelerator. the Total effect of multireflection and channeling is seen as a double structure of the extracted beam.
We think: for further developments of crystal collimation at Tevatron new working places for crystals (that is new addition goniometer) are absolutely needed.
Conclusion: IHEP contribution: • IHEP can participate in simulations of Crystal collimation at Tevatron and already has some preliminary result. • We ready to deliver our variant of channeling and reflector- crystals. • We can participate in manufacturing of new goniometer. For this we need Financial support 100 k$ and period of time about 6-9 monthes.
