Cognates are words that have a common etymological origin False Cognates are words similar in both Languages, but carring a different meaning.
False Cognates Some of this words suggest a relation between words but unfortunately they are unrelated. Colegio seems to be similar to College, but this means “Universidad” instead colegio. Although, there is a remote connection both are teaching places.
False Cognates Another special “False Cognate” is “Pretender” it translates to “Attempt” but is completely unrelated to “Pretend.”
