  5. Why Outreach important? • - Community lacks of information on fish • contamination • Fish has been a safe and traditional • food for a long time • Language barriers • Lack of health advisories’ awareness

  6. What Outreach Activities? • - Health Fairs (Khmer New Year) • Pamphlets • Newsletters / Newspapers • Community meetings • Small group dialogues and sharing • Cultural events • Fish advisory signage • Boat Trip

  8. What lessons learned ? Way to approach community members (1on 1 relationship/trust building) Materials (More descriptive pictures and simple and fewer words) Show that you care for them and their children Encourage them to share Go to them and share the most Effective ways to reach them

  9. Some Results ! See some changes in people’ behavior on eating fish They show concerns from fish consumption They have 3 words in minds: What fish (species), Where they’re caught from and How much to eat
