  2. What is it? • EquiFlow® Autonomous ICD (AICD) is Halliburton’s next generation inflow control device (ICD) which utilizes innovative dynamic fluid technology to differentiate between fluids flowing through the device in order to maximize oil production.

  3. How it will Benefit you • The AICD differentiates between fluids. Water and gas, follow more restrictive flow path than oil which flows relatively easily. When several AICDs are installed in a well, water production through any particular zone is greatly restricted allowing the other zones to continue producing oil at a high rate.

  4. Why it will Help • AICD works like a passive ICD during oil production, yet restricts the production of water and gas at breakthrough to minimize water and gas cuts dramatically.

  6. Where it Will Work • The AICD can maximize hydrocarbon production in any reservoir with unwanted fluid production. The AICD delays breakthrough of unwanted fluids, allowing oil production to be maximized.

  7. Challenges Addressed • The Autonomous ICD functions as a traditional passive ICD during oil production, balancing flow across the completion. Upon water or gas breakthrough those fluids are autonomously restricted. AICD tools are available for oil viscosities of 0.3 cP and higher.
