1916 - Great Britain occupied Palestine. 1917 - Balfour Declaration: Great Britain decided to promise part of Palestine to the European Zionists movement as a gift to build there state on. 1918 - Palestine became a British mandate colony. 1919 – the “Jaffa Revolution” initiated Palestinian resistance. Two more uprisings followed in 1929 & 1931-1936. Until 1948, 600,000 Zionist settlers immigrated to Palestine.
