EwkDQM • EWK monitor for PVT • Available in CMSSW/DQM/Physics • Runs in 3.1.x • Require single lepton HLT and • lepton pT>20 • Leading and sub-leading e, mu • Leading & sub-leading jet • Inv mass & trans mass, MET, vertex • No taus (well covered by POG) • Only basic reco objects, no PAT • Only lepton candidates, no W’s or Z’s • Not limited to any single EWK channel • Can be used on MC and data • Can be used with low lumi samples • Q: Will the resulting histos be avaliable • via the DQM GUI ? WmunuValidator • Analysis specific • Plot all quantities used in selection before cuts and after (n-1) cuts • Compare resulting histograms to reference histograms by running root macro • Available in CMSSW/ElectroWeakAnalysis/Wmumu • Was used to spot differences between Summer08 and Summer09 production • EWK PAG plans to have similar modules for Wenu, Zee, Zmumu • Q: Can this be interfaced to the DQM framework for automated displaying via the Web ? • (Currently plots uploaded by hand to PVT workspace on https://espace.cern.ch/.) • FILTER • Get Histograms using WMuNuSelector with • WMuNuAODValidator.py Sample for Validation (eg: WMuNu from Summer09) • MACRO • Compare histograms using WMuNuValidatorMacro Reference Sample (eg: WMuNu from Summer08) Monika Grothe, DQM for MC from EWK PAG, Sep 1 2009

ValidAnalyzer • CMSSW module residing in Wisconsin cvs • Runs in a half-automated way • Finds newly produced MC samples at • Wisconsin Tier-2 as they appear • Produces plots that are being displayed on http://www.hep.wisc.edu/cms/comp/DataQualMgmt/Images/ • Plots for e, mu, photon, jets, • ETmiss, tracks • Plots on resolution, generated and • reconstructed kinematic variables Could be used also for MC production at other EWK Tier-2’s Q: Of interest for general DQM ? Summary • Three different validation modules used by EWK PAG • Are complementary: • EwkDQM plots very basic reco quantities for leptons, jets, vertex, ETmiss • WmunuValidator analysis-specific, will have something similar for Zmumu, Zee, Wenu • ValidAnalyzer MC-specific, checks basic reco and gen quantities and makes plots • available on Web page • Questions: • Where are the EwkDQM plots on the DQM Web pages ? • Can/Should the analysis-specific Validators be interfaced to the DQM framework ? • Wisconsin ValidAnalyzer for general DQM ?
